Advice from a dad

Knowing that I have never been the best daughter of the year
my dad never fails to be there whenever i face failure in my life
everytime i go back, he always say the same thing, the same old advice
but i wonder how much have i followed

it is a realistic world out there
i still do not want to accept the way it should be
the way that i do not agree but have to accept sooner or later
do i really have to change in order to survive in the big big world out there?
i have always been too pampered
maybe it is time to stand up to change things for once.

Back from home

I am back in Singapore again, after 10 days of holiday at home
Back for the commencement job training.
Did not meet up many of the friends I planned to meet
By the time i go back in July again, all of them will be back to their university for the new semester

Just finished a book again, Blink by Malcolm Gladwell( the author of one of the bestsellers, The Tipping Point)

It is weird, coz I have not read The Tipping Point but start on Blink first
I remember telling Chow Chow how boring and wordy Blink was at first
how wrong was I
probably because 3 Mitch Albom’s books in a row, makes it difficult to absorb the style of writing from another author that is so different
now, i take back my words. Blink was awesome.
it actually brings out the issue that we encounter in our normal lifes but never really take notice of it
Malcolm Gladwell takes you in a rollercoaster ride in analyzing it
you will be captivated by the amount of case studies showering on you
No doubt, the next book to conquer, The Tipping Point.

The joy of reading a good book

It has been so long since I last read a book
during this holiday, I am trying to read the books that I have been planning to read but just could not find the time.
The joy of sitting quietly, enjoying a good book. I am savouring it to the max
so far, I have read all 3 books by Mitch Albom.

The first book I read by Mitch Albom was (strong recommmendation by friends),

and fell in love with it since then.

3 of them never fail to touch me in different ways
teaching, reminding me of some aspects of life that I used to take for granted
and when I get to the end, my eyes will fill with tears. silly, i know.
——————————————————
I am still deciding on which book to read next.
