Lab sessions are fun!
I am currently taking General Biology as my breadth
it is fun in the sense that we have no tutorials but lab sessions every week
however, i hate lab assigments
it has been quite some time since i did any lab session
back in secondary, i never have a chance in dissecting little animals (not that i want to!)
i think i would probably cry during the whole lab session if i were told to do so
biology has always been one of my favourite subjects in school
i never fail to read the whole textbook again and again
and now i ended up in arts
coz i am never good in chemistry you see
last week, in lab, i got to examine fruit flies “Drosophila”
we got the chance to see them through microscope
some were even being mutated with white eyes, wrinkled wings
can’t you imagine looking at them in high resolution with BIG RED EYES and HAIRY LEGS??!!!
*gulps*
i even saw a female fly laying eggs!!!
what a scene!
i actually pitied the mother fly you see
coz they had been anaesthetised
they were too weak to fly after that process
and yet the mother fly had to lay the eggs out
however, it was definitely an eye opening lab session
next week, we are going to examine zebra fish
can’t wait!
p/s: although this module is fun, but it is very hard to score. sigh..it is all about choosing the right module to help you to score in NUS.
don’t even think about choosing modules that you like blindly. coz you can die very hard…
